Beaverton Primary Care

Site Information
This clinic was established in March 2004 and provides services to 1,752 patients.
The Beaverton Clinic is a site that is piloting a mental health integration project. Through a partnership with Lifeworks, Inc., a community mental health provider, Virginia Garcia will provide an on-site mental health therapist and case manager (“Promotora”) to support the primary care providers in managing patients with mental health issues. This creative partnership with Lifeworks resulted from a common interest in expanding mental health services particularly to Hispanic patients in the Beaverton service area. The goals of the program are to identify, treat, stabilize, and develop self-management skills of patients with mental health issues, including substance abuse. Services will be provided without regard to the ability to pay.
Another unique dimension to the Beaverton Clinic is a partnership with the Asian Health and Service Center. This nonprofit organization provides interpreting, case management, and eligibility outreach services to Asian-speaking patients, another fast growing minority in the area. An effort has been made to not only partner with the Asian Health and Service Center for cultural and linguistic support, but to also hire directly bilingual/bicultural Asian staff. The Beaverton Clinic now has the most diverse patient population of any of VG’s clinics serving English-speaking patients, Spanish, Somalian, Vietnamese, Chinese, and Korean-speaking patients.
