Site Information

This is the original center that was established in memory of Virginia Garcia at Cornelius, a primary location for migrant and seasonal farm workers, and day laborers.
It serves the rural region of Western Washington County. The Cornelius Clinic also plays a central role in the management of VGMHC’s multiple sites. It houses the administration and also provides the centralized information infrastructure for the organization.

Facilities:

Primary Care Clinic

This is located in the main building and includes doctor’s offices, rooms for clinical functions, and 15 exam rooms. There are 12 physicians, 8 RN’s and 11 Medical assistants who provide health care relationships for routine and chronic conditions. The site currently has 5620 established patients and delivers approximately 18,000 visits annually. There is a higher incidence of diabetes in the patient population served by the clinic. In order to provide adequate diabetes care, a state-of-the-art digital retinal camera is available for retinal examination during a medical visit.

Mobile Medical Unit

A unit that provides critical outreach care also operates out of the site.

Dental/Vision Clinic

The dental clinic is located in another building in the campus and includes five dental operatories and a large conference room for Board and Staff meetings. There are 5 dentists and 5 dental assistants who provide care to 2,572 patients a year.
Pacific University College of Optometry operates a vision clinic in VGMHC’s Dental/Vision Facility in Cornelius. Functioning as a learning laboratory for students, it offers vision screening and eye care, and glasses at reduced prices to patients.

VG Cornelius Pharmacy

The Virginia Garcia Pharmacy is located in the Cornelius Center. It is located in a separate building directly behind the Cornelius Primary care Clinic. This pharmacy opened in August of 2003 and currently has 3 pharmacists and 4 pharmacy techs.
