In-kind gifts

Donations of valuable materials are another way of helping Virginia Garcia to achieve its mission. Our Outreach Centers in Cornelius and McMinnville are pleased to accept donations with prior approval. Please check with the Foundation prior to making an in-kind donation as we want to be certain that we are able to use the items that you wish to donate.

Here are some of the current goods we appreciate receiving:

  • Bandanas and hats
  • Personal hygiene products − shampoo, conditioner, soap and deodorant
  • Razors
  • White socks
  • Combs
  • T-shirts (small and medium)
  • Bilingual children’s books in Spanish
  • Dental hygiene products − toothbrushes, toothpaste and floss
  • Grocery store gift certificates for $5 or $10 each

If you have medical equipment or other goods that you would like to donate, please call us first so that we can direct your gift appropriately.

Gifts of appreciated property

You could enjoy a substantial tax advantage by making a gift of property such as stocks, bonds, or real estate to Virginia Garcia.

Planned gifts

Planned giving offers you the peace of mind of knowing that your wishes for the distribution of your assets will be carried out with responsibility, sensitivity, and timeliness. There are many planned giving options, including wills, life insurance policies, retirement plans, charitable trusts, and appreciated property. If you already have designated Virginia Garcia in your will or estate plan, please contact us so we may include you in the Virginia Garcia Legacy Society.
